IPL 2022

Even though there had been rumors' that Vivo was trying to sell the rights to the title sponsorship to a good buyer, the BCCI approved the move.

The Indian Premier League’s governing council decided on January 11 that Tata Group will replace Vivo as title sponsor. The decision was made at a meeting of the council.

“Yes, the Tata group is coming on board as the IPL title sponsor,” IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to PTI after learning of the development.

From 2018 to 2022, Vivo had a deal with Dream11 for title sponsorship rights worth Rs 2200 crore.

After the Galwan Valley military confrontation in 2020, the brand terminated the agreement and switched to Dream11.

In 2021, the BCCI approved Vivo’s return as title sponsor, despite reports that Vivo was trying to sell the rights.

The IPL 2022 mega auction will be held in Bengaluru during the second week of February.
